These are distances totaling 70 km which in the near future can have a speed reduction to 80 kilometers per hour.

The purpose of the speed reduction is to make the E10 safer in traffic while waiting for the carriageways to be separated by the center railings.

- The road sections that have more traffic than 2,000 vehicles per day as an annual average and that do not have a center row continue in our analyzes.

We look at whether speed-reducing measures are needed and make a risk assessment to protect road users on the road section, says Helena Eriksson, regional director at the Swedish Transport Administration North.

Center rail the long-term plan

The Swedish Transport Administration's long-term plan is to have a center railing along the entire E10 between Töre and Kiruna.

In the clip, you hear Helen Eriksson talk about why construction with a center railing is delayed and how the Swedish Transport Administration is trying to reduce the risk of accidents while waiting for separated lanes.
