“We demand that the Forces for Kosovo fulfill their mandate in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and calm down the unbridled Kosovo Albanian radicals,” RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
Zakharova recalled that full responsibility for ensuring security in the region rests with the "NATO-led international contingent."
The Russian Foreign Ministry also condemned the actions of the Kosovo Albanian leaders, who, according to a spokesman for the ministry, use any pretext to achieve a surge of Serbophobia among the local community on the eve of the October 17 municipal elections.
The director of the office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Serbian government, Petar Petkovic, said earlier that politicians in Pristina deliberately provoke incidents and aggravate the situation in order to occupy the north of unrecognized Kosovo, inhabited by the Serb population.
