During the night until Thursday, a young man was shot at Närlunda in Helsinki.

Shortly afterwards, something detonated outside a nightclub in the city center.

The shooting must have taken place in connection with a subway in the area just before 01. The man who was injured is in his 20s, a resident of a town outside Helsingborg and known to the police since before.

He is being cared for, according to Region Skåne, for life-threatening injuries.

- The latest I know is that the situation is critical and he has undergone surgery, says police chief Karim Ottosson.

Police can not see any motive for the incident, which is initially classified as attempted murder, but no one is currently arrested or suspected.

The police heard the detonation

About half an hour after the shooting, something detonated that, according to the police, is considered powerful.

- When the police are on site at the shooting, they hear a detonation, a loud bang.

What we can state is that about 100 meters around, shops, homes and the like have had their windows smashed, says Karim Ottosson.

What it is that detonated, the police can not say at the moment.

No one was injured in the blast.

The criminal classification is general destruction and there is no suspect.

- There is an indifference in this act where you expose others to great danger.

Investigate separately

The police are currently investigating the incidents separately.

- Despite the short period of time, we see it as unrelated events.

We see no connection to any groupings, says Karim Ottosson.

Work on the incidents continues and the police are redistributing resources in the police region South.
