The manager of a hammam located in Châlette-sur-Loing, in the Loiret, appeared before the Montargis judicial court for "endangering others by deliberate violation of a regulatory obligation of safety or prudence", reports

He was prosecuted after several cases of legionellosis observed in his establishment, in 2014 and 2015. Clients had been infected.
An investigation had been opened and the police had discovered a non-conformity of the sanitary facilities in the hammam.
The spa pool water came from a well, the contents of which could not be properly traced.
Ten months suspended sentence
The manager of the structure, who only worked there for a few months, denied any responsibility.
He explained during his trial that the owner of the establishment had not informed him of the water supply.
The man was sentenced to ten months in prison.
He also receives a ban on carrying out a similar activity in the future.
