All representatives of the Ecological Civilization Forum will jointly release the initiative of "Co-build Global Ecological Civilization and Protect Global Biodiversity".
On the evening of the 13th, the high-level meeting of the United Nations Conference on Biological Diversity concluded.
After the high-level meeting, the Ecological Civilization Forum will be held from October 14th to 15th.
The Ecological Civilization Forum is divided into three links: the opening ceremony, the theme forum and the closing ceremony. There are seven sub-forums inviting domestic and foreign guests to discuss the theme.
During the opening ceremony of the Ecological Civilization Forum, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will also name and commend the fifth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration areas and the "green water and green mountains are the golden mountains and silver mountains" practice innovation base, and promote the implementation of ecological civilization construction.
Zhang Huiyuan, director of the Center for Ecological Civilization of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, said that this forum will mainly have three expected results. One is the landmark outcome of the forum: the initiative of "protecting biodiversity and building a global ecological civilization".
This initiative will be jointly announced by all the delegates participating in the forum's closing ceremony.
The second is the series of results released by the theme forums: including research reports, case collections, etc., such as the theme forum 1 will release the "Declaration of Joint Actions to Address Climate Change and Protect Biodiversity under the Carbon Neutrality Goal", and the nature-based response to climate change Solution series report; theme forum 4 will release a collection of typical cases of ecological restoration in China, showing China's efforts and achievements in protecting biodiversity, promoting ecological civilization, and promoting global sustainable development; theme forum 6 will be released Regional research results such as "The Belt and Road Innovation Development Report 2021" and "The Beauty of Life on Earth-The Story of People and Biodiversity in Nature Reserves".
Third, the forum will also form a compilation of research findings to provide decision-making reference and support for ideas, cases, methods, and actions for the COP15 conference and post-2020 biodiversity conservation.
According to reports, the Ecological Civilization Forum invited more than 1,800 representatives from various contracting parties, international organizations, financial institutions, research institutions, social organizations, commercial enterprises, media institutions, and local governments in China, among which about 1,300 were offline participants. , Approximately 500 people participated online.
