Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed he had a cold and did not have COVID-19, after officials heard him coughing repeatedly during a videoconference meeting.

Putin addressed officials of his Security Council, last Monday, which was also broadcast on state television, telling them: Do not worry, everything is fine, and added, “I am subjected to tests on a daily basis, not only for (Covid-19), but also For all the other injuries, everything is fine.”

Putin was also seen coughing and sneezing at another meeting he held with officials to discuss agriculture.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Valentina Matvienko, interrupted Putin in the Security Council after that event, to ask him about his health.

She told him: Everyone was worried.

Putin told Security Council officials: I was outside where I was exposed to the cold air, and I was moving around actively, but nothing bad happened.

He said, referring to the vaccination against “Covid-19”: I know that you have all received the vaccination, and do not forget to get vaccinated again.

The Russian president, who celebrated his 69th birthday last week, went into self-isolation last month, when he discovered that dozens of his employees had been infected due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.

He showed no sign of illness, and two weeks later went out for a personal meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 29.

Since then, he has continued to hold most of his public meetings via video link.

Putin was previously vaccinated with two doses of the Russian drug "Sputnik V", the anti-Covid-19 virus.

He said the vaccine prevented him from contracting the virus, even though he worked closely for an entire day with an assistant who was infected.

Nationally, Russia is experiencing another increase in COVID-19 cases, with reported daily deaths reaching record levels, and officials blaming the high infections on low vaccination rates.
