Candidate for the inauguration of the right for the presidential election, Xavier Bertrand praised his loyalty to his political family and affirmed his desire to "rally" Thursday during a meeting in Oyonnax.

"Some people probably have regrets or resentment," he told 250 people, referring to his departure from LR in 2017.

But "I did not join another party, not create another party, and above all I did not betray my political family, while the proposals were numerous", he explained, recalling that he had "joined the party at 16" and "rose through the ranks, was secretary general of the UMP".

"If I want to unite the French, we must already unite my political family," he added during this meeting organized three days after his announcement that he would bow to the vote of the LR congress on December 4.

This is why he warned that he would not comment on the programs of his rivals at the LR Congress, nor would he "speak ill of anyone".

"I want to lead the country with them," he said.

Presenting himself as "the one who wants to win our ideas, and reconcile the French", he developed his program of "three priority projects": "authority, work and territories".

He also castigated "the gravediggers Macron and Edouard Philippe" and "the vultures Le Pen, Zemmour", and said his desire to "put an end to the Macronist adventure in our country".
