The 205th Extraordinary Diet Session was closed at the House of Councilors plenary session on the 14th of the end of the session.



Then, at the plenary session of the House of Representatives held after 1:00 pm, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno delivered the dissolution rescript wrapped in purple cloth to the Chairman of the House of Representatives Oshima.



Then, Chairman Oshima read aloud the dissolution rescript saying, "The House of Representatives will be dissolved according to Article 7 of the Constitution of Japan," and the House of Representatives was dissolved.



It will be dissolved 10 days after Prime Minister Kishida took office on the 4th of this month, and the period from the inauguration of Prime Minister to the dissolution will be the shortest after the war.



Following the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the government plans to hold an extraordinary cabinet meeting again to schedule the House of Representatives election, which will be announced on the 19th of this month and voted on the 31st.



The House of Representatives election has been held since October 2017, four years ago, and each party will enter into a de facto election campaign over measures against the new coronavirus and economic policies.
