Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the United States, said he does not expect a strong coronavirus mutation that surpasses the 'delta mutation'.

Director Fauci said on the 13th local time that health experts "do not expect mutations that exceed Delta's capabilities."

This is a remark that coincides with the prediction that "the delta epidemic may be the last pandemic", former FDA director Scott Gottlieb, issued last month.

Fauci also emphasized that vaccination should prevent the development of further mutations.

He then diagnosed that the fourth re-proliferation, which swept the United States between July and September, is gradually subsiding, but is not yet under control.

Fauci pointed out that smallpox is the only disease that mankind has succeeded in eradicating, and predicted that it would be difficult to completely eradicate the coronavirus.

"Achieving the kind of summit we all crave will be possible through high vaccination rates," he said.
