On Wednesday, the Nice Administrative Court ordered Rafaël Hernandez to restore access to property for Cédric Herrou, media figure in aid to migrants, indicates

Last week, the farmer and founder of Emmaus Roya had taken legal action after more than ten days without being able to use the path that allowed him to access his house, his farm and the homes of the companions.

His neighbors, owners of the plot, had erected a wall at the entrance to this path.

The court decision specifies that the couple will have to pay "100 euros per day of delay after the period of eight days from the present order". If this is not done, Cédric Herrou and his association will be “authorized […] to re-establish the access path themselves at the expense” of the spouses. They are also ordered to reimburse the costs of the three bailiff's reports.

The farmer had already taken justice in 2005 for this same problem, recalls the local daily.

At the time, the Nice court had ruled in his favor but the Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal had declared, twelve years later, the inadmissibility of his request.

Without recourse, the former neighbor had also made a wall and screened the access.

When the Hernandez couple bought the plot in question in 2019, they accepted that Cédric Herrou could go through this path with his tractor.

The relationship then deteriorated.
