Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said on Tuesday October 12 that he refuses to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Opposed to the health pass, convinced that he does not need to be vaccinated since he contracted the coronavirus in the summer of 2020, he is strengthening his position a little more among the skeptics, while the vaccination has made it possible to reduce contamination in Brazil.

President Bolsonaro
has always been reluctant towards anti-Covid vaccines and has frequently downplayed the severity of the pandemic. In a recent interview with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the UN in September, he publicly reiterated that he was not vaccinated. In New York, in fact, he had been forced to eat a pizza on the sidewalk, access to the restaurant being reserved for vaccinated customers. He was then the subject of severe criticism from the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, according to which Jair Bolsonaro sets a bad example.
The Brazilian head of state, who had said he would be the last to be vaccinated in his country, further radicalizes his message by affirming now that he will not be vaccinated.
And this then the progress of vaccination has made it possible to significantly reduce contamination in Brazil.
More than 71% of the 213 million Brazilians have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 45% have been fully immunized.
Brazil is the second most bereaved country in the world with more than 601,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic, behind the United States with more than 719,000 deaths.
