A total of 17.36 percent of those entitled to vote in the election to the diocesan council in Strängnäs chose to go to the polls.

That means 52,000 voters, Strängnäs diocese states in a press release.

According to the diocese, it is slightly more than what appeared in the preliminary figures the day after the election, but at the same time slightly less than until the 2017 election when 18.61 percent voted.

According to the now final result, the Social Democrats (S) are backing with one seat, but are still the largest nomination group with 20 seats in the diocesan council.

Politically independent in the Church of Sweden (POSK) increased by four seats and with their 15 seats are the second largest group followed by the Center Party (C) which backs from nine to seven seats.

Free liberals in the Church of Sweden (FISK) lose their only mandate and leave the diocesan council.
