On October 12, the General Assembly held a press conference. The head of the Sustainable Development Goals Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Alexander Trelbekov said that the General Assembly will explore how to solve the problem of climate change through sustainable transportation.
He pointed out that the theme of the conference covers almost all modes and methods of transportation, such as new energy vehicles. It will also discuss how to reduce ship carbon emissions by 45% and aviation emissions by 10% by 2030.
