The National Police has arrested five people for their alleged relationship with terrorist jihadism activities, four in Barcelona and one more in Madrid, in an investigation by the National Court, according to police and legal sources have informed Europa Press.

This is an operation by the General Information Commissariat that is a continuation of another in January where alleged jihadists were arrested and investigated by the National Police for their relationship with a plan to commit an attack.

The judge of the National Court Joaquín Gadea has taken statements from four of those arrested, since one of them was already in prison for other crimes.

All are of Algerian nationality and will enter provisional prison after being brought to justice.

The considered 'ringleader' is accused of the crimes of integration or collaboration with a terrorist gang, indoctrination and possession of weapons.

Another three arrested will enter prison as they are considered indoctrinated.
