Representatives from over 40 countries have gathered at the Malmö Fair.

The aim of the conference is for all countries to present measures to curb anti-Semitism and racism.

-I look forward to the conference, but even more to what will happen after it, he says.

High expectations

Many do not come to the Malmö Fair but participate via a link such as Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

French President Emanuel Macron has recorded a speech while Finnish President Sauli Niinistö will be present, as well as EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the Swedish royal couple.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S), who is hosting the meeting, has expectations of the participating companies, as well as schools and organizations.

-It is sad, but anti-Semitism has increased during the pandemic.

That makes it even more important to deal with it and that we do what we can to fight it.

That's why we're here.

Facebook and google in place

The conference will address four themes: remembering the Holocaust, education about the Holocaust, anti-Semitism on social media and combating anti-Semitism and other forms of racism.

Representatives of the major social media platforms Facebook, Google and Tiktok are also present - and this has to do with the fact that the Prime Minister is particularly concerned about the extremist propaganda and racism that is spreading there.
