La Ertzaintza ha detenido sobre las 19.20 horas al individuo que había entrado armado en el recinto universitario vizcaíno. Durante más de media hora, miles de estudiantes han vivido momentos de enorme angustia por la presencia de un hombre armado y la Policía vasca ha procedido al desalojo ordenado de las Facultades de Medicina y de Ciencias. En el resto del campus universitario, tanto los estudiantes como profesores y trabajadores han permanecido en el interior de las instalaciones.

La Ertzaintza ha constatado que se han producido "daños materiales" pero ha transmitido un mensaje de tranquilidad a los alumnos y a sus familiares al constatar que no se hay ninguna persona herida.
