"Russia has announced a" migration amnesty "for 158 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan, who were previously banned from entering the territory of this country," RIA Novosti quotes a message from the embassy.

The diplomatic mission said that this was said at a meeting between First Deputy Interior Minister of Russia Alexander Gorovoy with an Uzbek delegation headed by adviser to the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Mehriddin Khairiddinov, who is on a visit to the Russian capital.

At the same time, the message says that the "amnesty" does not apply to citizens of Uzbekistan who were deported from Russia on the basis of court decisions.

Earlier it was reported that the prosecutors general of Russia and Uzbekistan signed a cooperation program for 2021-2023.
