“We are not yet going to appeal this decision and believe that it is more adequate to the situation than the arrest, which the investigation insisted on,” TASS quotes his lawyer Tatyana Pukhova.

According to her, when making a decision, the court was guided by the fact that Zuev has health problems.

Also, 60 people vouched for the rector.

Earlier it became known that Zuev was placed under house arrest by the decision of the Tverskoy court of the capital.

Prior to that, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the rector of Shaninki Zuev was detained on suspicion of embezzling over 21 million rubles belonging to the Fund for New Forms of Education Development.

The former Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Marina Rakova is also involved in this case.
