On Wednesday, the International Forum for the Remembrance of the Holocaust and against anti-Semitism will be held in Malmö.

The conference was originally planned for last year, 75 years after the end of the war.

But it had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

The aim of the conference is to take concrete and joint steps forward in the fight against anti-Semitism.

- It is still unfortunate that anti-Semitism remains in parts of society.

Thank goodness to a fairly small degree in Sweden, but it is unfortunately increasing.

Even if it is a little, it is too much, says Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) to SVT.

Hoping for progress despite the lack of heavyweights

44 countries are participating in the conference.

In addition, representatives of social media companies, the UN, the EU and other organizations.

But several heavyweights will be missing at the Malmö Fair.

For example, Israeli President Isaac Herzog will participate via link.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and French President Emmanuel Macron will send pre-recorded greetings.

Despite this, Stefan Löfven hopes for results.

- Those who come here, those delegations must also make their own commitments, he says.
