"Sergei Zuev is in a three-bed cell, he has two neighbors, one was detained on suspicion of illegal possession of drugs, the other for bodily harm," he said, noting that the Shaninka rector had not complained about his cellmates.

According to the human rights activist, Zuev had only one request - to regularly measure his blood pressure.

"Zuev said that he was detained the day before in one of the hospitals where he was being treated for a chronic illness, taken for interrogation, and brought to the temporary detention facility closer to midnight," the human rights activist added, adding that Zuev did not admit his guilt.

The POC members also visited the former Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education Marina Rakova, who is still in the temporary detention facility.

“She is sitting in a double cell with a girl accused of theft.

Rakova has a request to the employees of the detention center - more often to issue boiling water, in the IVS it is given for breakfast and dinner, and the power sockets in the cells of the IVS do not work, ”the interlocutor told RT.

He also noted that Zuev and Rakova were “pleasantly surprised by the quality of food in the IVS”.

Rakova clarified to the POC members that she was satisfied with breakfast: millet porridge, sausage sandwich and tea with sugar.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the rector of Shaninka, Sergei Zuev, became a suspect in the Rakova case: he is suspected of embezzling more than 21 million rubles from the educational fund.

It is expected that on October 13, the court will elect Zueva a preventive measure.
