On September 16, around 5:30 a.m., he set fire to his own car that he had bought for 500 euros the day before.

The fire then spread to a garage, before being brought under control by firefighters.

No injuries were observed.

“I have no explanations.

I had a bottom of gasoline can in the back seat, I took a lighter, ”said the young man, already convicted four times, before the judges.

He then spoke of a "stroke of madness" probably related to alcohol.

“We are in an inhabited area.

You realize that the fire could have spread to a hall of a building, ”retorted the president of the hearing.

In addition to the suspended sentence, the accused will have to pay 10,000 euros to repair the damage.

Two other young people were present at the time of the facts.

One of them, 23, was not involved in the fire, but filmed the scene.

He was released.

The third youngster was not arrested.
