A 24-year-old man died on the night of October 9 to 10, in Agde (Hérault), after a brawl that involved fifteen people, says Raphaël Balland, the public prosecutor of Béziers.

He was taken care of by the fire brigade, but lost consciousness, before his death was established overnight.

That night, when the municipal and then national police arrived at the scene of the fight, they were taken to task "by several overexcited individuals, visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, who projected objects of different kinds in their direction ”, indicates the prosecutor of Béziers.

Police found a man lying on the ground bleeding profusely.

He had multiple wounds on several parts of his body, as well as facial trauma.

An altercation that degenerated

The autopsy, performed on Monday by forensic scientists from the Montpellier Medico-Legal Institute, confirmed that the victim had lost his life due to multiple stab wounds, some of which had affected vital organs, indicates the prosecutor.

Further legal medical examinations were ordered by the prosecution.

The motive for the crime is not yet established.

According to the first elements gathered by the investigators, it would seem that an altercation between members of communities of Travelers has degenerated.
