Retailers in Hesse can now also choose whether they only receive corona-vaccinated and convalescents in their stores.

This 2G option model will be extended to the entire retail sector, as the state government announced on Tuesday regarding the new resolutions of the Corona cabinet.

"We are assuming that this option will only be used on a daily basis and that everyday businesses will not make use of it," said Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) according to the announcement.

"But that also means that without 2G, the distance and mask requirements still apply."

Operators in the culture, gastronomy and event sectors have already been able to apply the 2G rule.

Those who only allow those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered in their rooms or shops may waive the requirement to keep a mask and a mask.

New corona guide values increased

After days with a downward trend, the new guideline values for the corona policy in Hesse are meanwhile moving in the wrong direction again. The so-called hospitalization license is slightly higher than at the beginning of the week; this value reflects the corona patients newly admitted to Hessian clinics within a week. In addition, the number of Covid patients in intensive care and normal wards has increased slightly. On the other hand, the downward trend continues with the seven-day incidence, i.e. the new infections recorded within the past seven days.

As reported by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the incidence of hospitalization has risen from 1.65 to 1.88, which is one of the lower values since this indicator was first published a month ago.

The threshold for stricter requirements is eight.

124 intensive care beds are occupied by corona patients including 14 suspected cases, one bed more than before.

Should there be more than 200 sick people, the country would have to change its daily routine.

On normal wards, clinics are currently treating 278 Covid patients, an increase of six;

According to the ministry, these include 63 people for whom the infection has not yet been confirmed.

Christmas markets without access controls

The country's amended Corona regulation, which was extended until November 7, provides for relaxation that also affects Christmas markets.

These could take place this year, access controls are not required, explained Bouffier.

In general, the following applies to public festivals: They can be held without the approval of certain numbers of people.

The new Corona rules also include the fact that in old people's and nursing homes there is no longer an automatic entry ban for the entire facility in the event of a single case of infection.

Instead, individually required protective measures should be taken.

The regulation also provides for stricter regulations: Unvaccinated hospital staff must be tested for the coronavirus twice a week.

In schools, the following applies: the mask on at the seat and daily tests immediately after a positive rapid test, for example from a classmate - and not only after confirmation by a more precise PCR test.

With a view to the end of the free corona tests, Bouffier appealed for many citizens to get vaccinated against the virus: Hesse has come through the autumn well so far.

"Nevertheless, we must not be careless." A vaccination offers the greatest protection.

"And this is still uncomplicated, unbureaucratic and free to get."
