Vaccine booster immunization in many places

"Golden code" changes to "Diamond code" after the strengthening shot here

In September this year, Zhejiang, Henan and other places proposed to start the new coronavirus vaccine booster immunization work.

Up to now, according to incomplete statistics, more than 10 provinces including Anhui, Fujian, Henan, Heilongjiang, and Hubei have clearly initiated intensified vaccination.

In Hubei, Wuhan, Xiangyang, Yichang, Huangshi, Jingzhou and other places have launched new coronavirus vaccine booster immunization.

As of October 10, 40,710 people in Hubei have completed the booster immunization.

For example, Wuhan City has prioritized the implementation of enhanced immunization for people with high exposure risks in key areas such as Jinyintan Hospital and the airport, and now it has basically achieved full coverage.

Guangxi officially launched the new crown virus vaccine booster vaccination on October 9, and implemented a free vaccination policy for residents. People over 18 years of age who have been vaccinated with the new crown virus vaccine for 6 months can get the vaccine.

In Fujian, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Jinjiang and other places have started the new crown vaccine booster immunization work.

The Xiamen Municipal Health Commission proposed that starting from October 10, Xiamen City will start booster immunization for people over 12 years of age who have completed two doses of inactivated vaccine or one dose of adenovirus vector vaccine for 6 months.

It is worth noting that, according to a report released by the Heilongjiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention on the 10th, the health code of people who have completed the new crown vaccine booster vaccination will be upgraded from the "golden code" to the "diamond code" as a proof of follow-up booster vaccination.

Who can get booster shots?

In September this year, at a press conference held by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council, Wang Huaqing, chief expert of the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's immunization program, mentioned that it is recommended to carry out intensified vaccination for three types of key populations.

These include employees in ports, quarantine places, designated medical institutions, people who are exposed to a relatively high risk of the virus; people with immunodeficiency or low immune function, some people over 60 years old, and people who go abroad to study, work, and communicate, especially when the epidemic continues. Spread the country’s personnel.

However, in terms of the requirements for intensified vaccination work in various regions, the minimum age limit for the vaccinated population, whether to give priority to the key population, etc. are different.

In terms of age restrictions, most regions stipulate that the target of this booster vaccination is mainly people over the age of 18 who have completed the vaccination for 6 months.

However, in some areas such as Wuhu in Anhui and Xiamen in Fujian, booster vaccination of inactivated vaccines over the age of 12 has also been opened.

In terms of the selection of vaccines, most localities currently target people who have completed two doses of inactivated vaccine or one dose of adenovirus vector vaccine for 6 months.

In addition, most regions stated that priority is given to key populations to carry out intensified vaccination at this stage, but there are also some regions that do not limit vaccination targets to key populations.

Specifically, Hubei, Guangxi, Fujian and other places have clearly prioritized vaccination for key populations, while some areas such as Jinan in Shandong, Hefei in Anhui, and Suihua in Heilongjiang have not clearly delineated restrictions on key populations.

In addition to the new crown vaccine, this vaccine must not be forgotten

At present, the global new crown pneumonia epidemic situation is still developing continuously, and the new crown virus accelerates the spread of mutations, and the risk of the epidemic entering our country is still high.

In the face of the continuing pressure for the prevention and control of the new crown epidemic, vaccines undoubtedly play a key role, and strengthening immunization is of great significance for protecting susceptible people and effectively curbing the spread of the epidemic.

At the press conference of the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held earlier, Wang Huaqing once introduced that antibodies produced by strengthening immunity have stronger endurance.

Half a year after the booster immunization, although the antibody level has also declined, it is still higher than the peak value after two or one dose of vaccination.

All these suggest that there will be a better protective effect after boosting immunity.

In addition, related studies have shown that boosting immunity can increase antibodies, and the spectrum of antibodies is also broader, which means that it will have a better protective effect on mutant strains.

Wang Huaqing reminded that in the selection of vaccines, the current advice given by experts is to use the vaccine produced by the original vaccination company. If the same company cannot meet the supply, the vaccine of the same technical route should be selected for vaccination.

In other words, the current strengthening needle does not recommend "mixing".

It is worth mentioning that as a preventive measure in autumn and winter, influenza vaccination is also being carried out in various places.

So, can the flu vaccine and the new crown vaccine be vaccinated at the same time?

According to the recommendations of the "New Coronavirus Vaccination Technical Guidelines (First Edition)" released this year, simultaneous vaccination with other vaccines is not recommended, and the interval between other vaccines and the new coronavirus vaccine should be greater than 14 days.
