King Salman Participates in the Extraordinary G20 Summit on Afghanistan

Today, Tuesday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz will participate in the extraordinary summit to be held by the leaders of the Group of Twenty on Afghanistan to discuss humanitarian aid and combating terrorism in that country.

A diplomatic source in the capital, Riyadh, told German News Agency that King Salman will deliver the Kingdom's speech via video conference during the extraordinary summit of the leaders of the Group of Twenty, which will include a demand from the Taliban movement and all Afghan parties, to work to maintain security and stability in all Afghan lands.

The Saudi delegate to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation said during the organization’s conference on Afghanistan last July that “the kingdom hopes that the Taliban movement and all Afghan parties will work to maintain security and stability in all the territories of the Republic of Afghanistan, and to preserve lives and property.”

He added: "The Kingdom renews its firm and historical position in support of establishing peace and stability, building solidarity and uniting ranks in Afghanistan."
