October 11, 2021 The polls in 42 Sicilian municipalities reopened at 7 from yesterday to vote to elect their mayors and to renew the municipal councils. Voting takes place until 2pm. Yesterday 44% turnout. For any ballots, the polls will be back on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 October. A total of 568,357 citizens called to vote. In twenty-nine centers the majority system is in force, in thirteen the proportional system. The municipal councilors to be elected are 606. The voting operations will begin once the voting operations have been completed. Today we also vote in Sardinia up to 15 in 98 municipalities out of 377 to elect mayor and city council. The turnout yesterday, on the first day of voting, was 45.43%, lower than the 66% five years ago, when, however, the vote was only on Sunday.Among the three main municipalities to vote in Olbia, 44.51% went to the polls in Olbia, 41.79% in Capoterra and 41.60% in Carbonia. 



Meanwhile, 24 out of 35 mayors have already been elected in the centers where only one list was presented. The municipalities in which a quorum of 40% has been reached are Nughedu San Nicolò (outgoing Michele Carboni confirmed); Monteleone Roccadoria (with the mayor Giovannina Fresi); Ardara (third term for Francesco Dui); Muros (elected Federico ToLu), in the Sassarese area.In Gallura Francesco Ledda is the new first citizen of Alà dei Sardi. In the Nuorese area Maurizio Cadau in Belvì, Salvatore Chisu in Borore, Alessandro Loche in Loculi, Ilenia Vacca in Ovodda, Christian Loddo in Talana were elected, while Gian Pietro Arca and Triei Anna Assunta Chironi were elected to Silanus.



In the Oristano area, in the smallest town on the island, Baradili, Anna Maria Camedda was elected; Bonarcado chose the regional councilor of the Lega Annalisa Mele; Bonarcado Luca Corrias, Scano Montiferro Antonio Fiore. In South Sardinia Barrali confirmed Fausto Piga, San Nicolò Gerrei Steafano Soro as mayor for the third term. Villasalto elected Leonardo Usai, Decimoputzu Antonio Munzittu, Selegas Alessio Piras and Turri Martino Picchedda, while mayors of Sant'Andrea Frius and Villaperuccio will be Simone Melis and Marcellino Piras respectively.



Trentino Alto Adige, Merano and Brentonico to the ballot


Four municipalities in Trentino and three in Alto Adige went to the polls yesterday. In Brentonico (Trento) the ballot goes on while in Bondone, Nogaredo and Terragnolo (Trento), Chiara Cimarolli, Alberto Scerbo, Massimo Zenatti, respectively, were elected mayors. The municipality of Merano will also compete in the second round where the candidate supported by 4 lists, including Pd and M5s, Paul Rosch and Dario Dal Medico, supported by three lists, will compete.



Erich Josef Wallnöfer was elected mayor in Glorenza (Bolzano) and Ludwig Busetti was elected mayor in Nalles (Bolzano).

The second round will take place on October 24th.

Yesterday the turnout was 40% in Trentino and 36% in Alto Adige.

The elections for the municipality of Lona-Lases (TN) have been postponed due to the failure to submit lists of candidates.

Here too, as for Sardinia and Sicily, there is a decrease compared to the previous administrative ones.
