This Sunday, two police officers were hospitalized after being struck by a car during an intervention for a burglary in Lormont, near Bordeaux, we learned from police sources on Monday.
"At the top of the Garonne coast, they do not hesitate to deliberately strike the police vehicle of the security and proximity group, eastern division, which was trying to intercept them, while the police were on board", reports the Alternative Police Nouvelle Aquitaine union in a press release.
The Alliance union specifies that the car which hit them was occupied by "two hooded people".
The days of the two injured police officers are not in danger, according to the union.
One of the two suspects was arrested.
Wounded in shock, he was also admitted to hospital.
The second person in the vehicle fled on foot and is currently being sought.
