The incident took place at a hotel in Helsingborg in mid-May.

The woman lived there at the time and sold sex via a website when she was contacted by the now convicted man.

After they had intercourse, the man attacked the woman with a knife.

According to the indictment, the woman received stab wounds to both her chest, arm, back and legs in the incident.

In addition, she suffered injuries to one eye.

Found through forgotten mobile

Despite the injuries, the woman managed to get out into the hotel corridor and call for help.

Then the perpetrator fled - but left his mobile phone, a pair of handcuffs and the knife used in the attack.

The now convicted man was located by being the owner of the phone.

He himself has denied having stabbed the woman, but blood from the woman was found on a pair of shoes in his apartment.

Planned attack

The woman is convinced that the man had already planned to attack her when they planned the meeting earlier the same day.

- I am sure that he intended to do this from the beginning, nothing special happened and there were no discussions about money or anything else, she has said in interrogation.

That assumption is supported by the fact that the man bought a shell knife, handcuffs and tape the same afternoon, a few hours after the sex meeting was booked.

He himself says that he had planned to rob the woman in the belief that she would not dare to report the crime because of her profession.

No expulsion

The man is not deported because it is unclear exactly how old he was when he came to Sweden.

According to the law, a person cannot be deported if he came to Sweden before the age of 15 and resided in Sweden for at least five years when prosecution is instituted.

According to the prosecutor, who demanded deportation, he was 15 years old, but the district court does not believe this has been proven because it is not known what day of the year he was born.
