In her role as regional coordinator against prostitution and human trafficking in Uppsala, Mikaella Matta Salinas comes into contact with both sex buyers and women who sell sexual services.

Women have ways to go to get help, there is a difference for sex buyers - even though they are the ones that both the police and others who work around prostitution believe that you should focus on to get a change.

- We are dependent on being able to lock on.

It is sad to reach a sex buyer who admits that they need help, and then there is no support, says Mikaella Matta Salinas.

- We are forced to call Västerås and Gävle, where there are receptions, to hear if they can make an exception.

Once we get to that, it is not possible to get hold of the man.

Has mapped the need

Asal Gohari (S), as chairman of the social committee, has the question on his table.

- It has been difficult to show how great the need is, which we have now mapped, she says.

And that could be a change.

At the Samaritan Home's diakonia, they are in the starting blocks to - partly with support from Uppsala municipality - open a reception aimed at both men who buy sex and women in sexual exploitation.

In the clip above, Mikaella Matta Salinas tells more about how she is behind in her work.
