11 October 2021Start of the week marked by falls on the stock markets.

In Milan, the Ftse Mib index fell by 0.80%, the worst performance among the main indices.

Driving the index down is mainly the utilities sector, -2.2%.

Plus sign only for energy stocks (+ 0.1%) for the sector index, thanks to the boost of oil: the Brent from the North Sea exceeded 84 dollars a barrel, with an increase of just under 2 per barrel. one hundred compared to Friday.  



The other European indices were also negative, from Frankfurt (-0.36%) to Paris (-0.14%);

however, London is an exception, + 0.4%.  



Wall Street also opened lower but the three main indices turned slightly positive: Dow Jones + 0.16%, S&P 500 and Nasdaq + 0.10%. 



Among the reasons for concern is Friday night's surge in the yield on US government bonds, the 10-year Treasury: it reached 1.61%, 15 basis points higher than a week ago.

The yield of the ten-year Italian BTP also rises: 0.92%, we are at the highest level since June.  



Among the stocks on Wall Street Merck, + 0.21%, after asking for approval for the emergency use of the anti-Covid drug, intended for patients with a mild form. 



In Piazza Affari, greater increases for Tenaris (+ 1.56%) and Stellantis (+ 1.14%), greater decreases for Enel (-2.76%) and Amplifon (-2.80%).
