The man was arrested in Halland more than a year ago on suspicion of several sexual crimes against children.

During the course of the investigation, suspicions against him have grown.

Among other things, DNA tests led to a aggravated rape of a child in Rydskogen in Linköping in the summer of 2005.

He is now being prosecuted for this and another 33 charges at Varberg District Court.

In addition to the Linköping case, the crimes must have taken place between 2016 and 2020 and include serious rape of children, serious exploitation of children for sexual posing, sexual harassment and serious child pornography crime.

Filmed own abuse

The crimes are said to have taken place either over the internet where he is said to have persuaded children, between 8 and 12 years old, to perform sexual acts in front of a camera or that he had sexually abused them in physical presence with children.

The police have found over a thousand child pornographic images and films with the man.

According to the prosecutor, the material shows, among other things, when he himself commits child rape.

Appealed to the Supreme Court

SVT has previously reported on the case.

He had then been in custody for more than a year and his lawyer still appealed the detention to the Supreme Court.
