Expo 2020 Dubai succeeded in attracting large numbers of visitors, during the first days of the launch of the first World Expo to be held in an Arab country, and the first in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

Yesterday, the Expo 2020 Dubai office revealed that the exhibition witnessed a large turnout in the number of visitors, as during the first 10 days, 411,768 visits were recorded from ticket holders belonging to 175 different nationalities.

With the availability of multiple options of tickets, multi-day tickets and season tickets are very popular, as one in five visitors during the first 10 days made more than one visit, because one visit is not enough to explore everything that the global event site offers.

Remarkable enthusiasm

For his part, the Secretary-General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, Dmitry Kerkenzis, confirmed that “the first week of (Expo) is undoubtedly successful.

The numbers we see so far are very encouraging, and show the desire of people all over the world to reconnect with each other and work together for a better future.”

Reem Al-Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, said: "The number of visits in the first 10 days shows the world's enthusiasm and aspiration to attend (Expo 2020 Dubai), and we are very pleased with this wonderful turnout to attend its activities."

She added: "The coming days will be full of more unique, dazzling, and unique events that provide a rich and meaningful visitor experience, and we look forward to welcoming everyone from all over the world."

travel climax

For her part, the Vice President of Communications at Expo 2020 Dubai, Shauna McGee, said that international markets contributed one visitor out of three visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai, adding that one out of every three visitors is a foreign tourist who is not residing in the country. .

She pointed out that this is an important achievement, expecting that the number of visitors will increase during the coming period with the increase in international travel, especially in light of new programs and events every day.

She indicated that these numbers were achieved despite the fact that we did not reach the peak of international tourism in Dubai, noting that the emirate usually witnesses an increase in the number of Dubai tourists in late October, especially with the start of vacations in many countries, including the holidays in the coming period.

She explained that tickets to attend the exhibition in the multi-day and seasonal category were the most popular and sought-after, noting that one in five visitors during the first 10 days since its launch visited the exhibition more than once.

For his part, Joseph Issa, Commissioner-General of the Republic of Timor-Leste at Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “Since the launch of (Expo 2020 Dubai), we have been very busy with large numbers of visitors coming to our pavilion every day.

We are happy to see many visitors interested in learning more about our country, and we are pleased to offer them in our booth a glimpse of the opportunities for tourism, investment and visit from all over the world.”

While the Commissioner-General of the Marshall Islands at Expo 2020 Dubai, Ambassador Doreen Debrem, said: “This is the first time we have participated in a separate pavilion at a World Expo, and it is a wonderful experience as we were able to showcase the best of our country to visitors, and we are pleased with the reactions of people when they visit our pavilion. This is indeed an excellent opportunity to be part of this extraordinary event.”

The numbers announced include visitors who purchased tickets to attend Expo 2020 Dubai, and do not include representatives of the participating parties, their delegations or guests, nor do they include Expo employees, employees of its partners, or those invited by official authorities.

The virtual Expo website (https://virtualexpodubai.com/) witnessed five million visits between October 1 and 10, in addition to more than three million visits to watch the exhibition. The official opening ceremony took place on September 30th.

Theme pavilions with dazzling designs and distinctive content attracted the attention of visitors to "Expo 2020 Dubai", which are the Sustainability Pavilion, the Mobility Pavilion and the Opportunity Pavilion, and Al Wasl Square, with its special creative touches, won the admiration of visitors with the various activities it presented during the first 10 days of "Expo 2020 Dubai". The Expo Falls, which combines flowing water and dazzling fiery formations, caught the attention of visitors.

As well as the pavilions of 192 countries and the pavilions of partners and other international bodies.

A large number of families flocked to the various suites, especially during the weekend.
