It was on May 3 last year that a man was murdered on Lars Kaggsgatan in Gothenburg.

Thirteen of the sixteen defendants in the big case were convicted.

Four of them received life sentences.

But the court did not consider that the evidence was sufficient to convict the man who is now claiming damages of as much as SEK 700,000.

"The

compensation should be set at a higher amount than what is normally paid in view of the fact that NN has been suspected of extremely serious crime

", the lawyer writes and adds, among other things, that his client has been detained for "a considerable length of time".

The prosecutor points to the Encrochat phone

But the prosecutor opposes the demand and points out that the man was the holder of an Encrochat telephone and that these are used as aids in, for example, murder.

According to the prosecutor, the phone shows that the man conversed with several people who, according to the court, were directly involved in the murder plans - and that his answer can only be interpreted as meaning that he understood the plans to kill the victim.

"

Against the reported background, his compensation should at least be adjusted downwards

," the prosecutor writes in his response to the referral.
