On October 7, local time, a new study released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that since the beginning of the new crown epidemic, more than 140,000 American children have experienced the pain of losing a close relative.

This study counted data from April 2020 to June 2021 and found that 1 in 500 children in the United States lost their mother, father or grandparent who cared for them.

Among African, Latino, and Indians in the United States, almost 7 out of every 10 children lost their loved ones during the epidemic.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not collect data to explain why these differences exist, but research on the course of the epidemic has shown that serious inequalities in health care in the United States have led to higher death rates in communities of color.
