On Saturday afternoon, a ninth person was found dead in the landslides.

- He is believed to be the last, says the country's Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.

The collapse, when about five floors collapsed, smashed several cars parked on the street in front of the building.

Up to 15 people ended up under the landslides, and so far two people have been excavated alive from the rubble.

Three grips

Three people have been arrested, according to police.

These are the owner of an apartment on the ground floor and two construction workers he had hired.

The two men are said to have been engaged in renovation work of a non-professional nature, which according to the police caused the accident.

The detainees now risk between two and ten years in prison.
