A 28-year-old man was tried Wednesday before the Rennes Criminal Court for trafficking in psychotropic substances.

During a search of his home, investigators found thirty kilograms of cannabis resin and more than 200 canisters of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.

“I didn't know it was illegal,” he said at the hearing.

The court sentenced him to 18 months in prison.
