A 46-year-old woman lost her life in a road accident overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in Moselle.

She was traveling on the A31 when she lost control of her vehicle, around 2:20 am, between interchanges 42 and 43 near Bétange.

The driver struck the center rail before coming to a stop.

His Peugeot 307 was struck in stride from the rear, by a truck, reports Lorraine Actu.

The 40-year-old was initially seriously injured in the shock.

Supported by the emergency services, she was transferred to Nancy University Hospital where she finally succumbed to her injuries.

She was pronounced dead around 5:30 a.m.

Traffic disrupted on the highway

Traffic was impacted several hours after the accident.

The A31 was closed at junction 42 until 5 a.m.

One lane was completely neutralized and the other was limited to 70 km / h.

The Interdepartmental Roads Directorate intervened to repair the highway barrier.

For its part, the Moulins-lès-Metz motorway CRS has opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
