Zero deaths in traffic accidents in Fujairah in 6 months

According to a recent traffic statistic, the Emirate of Fujairah recorded zero deaths in traffic accidents during the past six months, attributing the reason to enhancing security and safety on the emirate's roads, and achieving the highest levels of traffic safety for all users.

The statistics, obtained by "Emirates Today", showed that the Emirate of Fujairah recorded 815 traffic accidents during the month of June, which resulted in five injuries without deaths, and 923 accidents in July that resulted in six injuries without deaths, and 905 traffic accidents in August resulted in one injury. 10 people without deaths.

She stated that the month of May topped the number of accidents with 1,051 accidents, resulting in the injury of 15 people without deaths, while April recorded 884 accidents, resulting in the injury of 14 people without deaths, and March recorded 940 accidents, resulting in the injury of seven people without deaths, while February recorded the death of one person 14 people were injured in 836 accidents, and in January one person died, and five others were injured in 895 traffic accidents.

For its part, the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Fujairah Police General Command confirmed that safe crossing of the road contributes to reducing run-over accidents, deaths and injuries, which the department seeks to achieve, for the safety of pedestrians and road users through intensive awareness campaigns.

She added that the Traffic and Patrols Department is making efforts to reduce the percentage of run-over accidents, by educating road users and pedestrians through awareness campaigns, with the aim of maintaining the safety of pedestrians from run-over accidents, and reducing deaths and injuries resulting from them.

She explained that most of the accidents that occurred were due to excessive speed of vehicles, being busy with other than the road, not adhering to the private lane, as well as wrong overtaking on the road, lack of attention while driving, and not leaving enough distance to the front vehicle while driving.
