Mohamed bin Zayed visits the Opportunities Pavilion, which includes the United Nations Forum at the "Expo Dubai"

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today visited the Opportunities Pavilion, which includes the United Nations Forum held at the International Expo 2020 Dubai.

His Highness was briefed on the creative ideas and innovative initiatives presented within the Opportunities Pavilion and what it aims at by providing a platform for individuals and societies to cooperate and contribute to shaping the future and achieving equality for all.

The United Nations, through its participation in a series of programmes, workshops and exhibitions, highlights the importance of partnerships and cooperation between the United Nations and governments around the world, including the United Arab Emirates, along with the private sector and civil society, to highlight the importance of international cooperation in achieving the goals of sustainable development.

The themes and programs of the Opportunity Pavilion are in line with the sustainable development goals that come at the core of the UAE’s strategic vision and are in line with the goals of Expo 2020 Dubai, starting from highlighting the efforts of countries to make sustainable development at the heart of their strategies, to attracting millions of visitors to educate them and urge them to contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals. .

The pavilion defines its goals through three tracks focusing on water, food and energy, and the provision of these three human needs is a key and necessary element to achieve progress in any society.

The three tracks are brought to life by mentors from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, whose innovative projects in their communities - simple solutions that require little resources or investment - have had a reality-changing effect.

Among these examples are the projects

Food Path: Maryam Al-Junaibi from the UAE, a sustainable organic grower, teaches visitors how to grow their own food even if it is in a small space.

Energy Path: Fatima Juma Haji from Zanzibar/Tanzania trained to become a solar energy engineer to provide electricity for her village.

Water Path: Abel Cruz collects fog by hanging nets to provide water for his community.

His Highness was accompanied during the visit by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Airports, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, and Undersecretary Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei.
