"Investigative authorities ... according to media reports on the commission of illegal actions against four convicts, four more criminal cases have been initiated," TASS quotes a message from the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
It is noted that two cases were initiated on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Art.
132 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Violent acts of a sexual nature"), two more cases are classified under clause "a" of Part 3 of Art.
286 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Exceeding official powers, committed with the use of violence and the threat of its use").
On October 5, it was reported that following a check on media reports of illegal actions against a prisoner in the Saratov region, investigators opened a case for "violent acts of a sexual nature committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy."
In addition, the Federal Penitentiary Service began checking information about torture against a man in one of the institutions of the penitentiary system of the Saratov region.
