Makram Akrout, a baker from the 12th arrondissement won the prize for the best baguette in Paris.

According to tradition, the baker was to provide the Elysée with bread for a year.

But posts hostile to France published on his Facebook page resurfaced, forcing the Elysee to turn around.

The baker assures that his account had been hacked and filed a complaint.

Dominique Anract, the president of the National Conference of French bakery and pastry, reacted to Dimitri Pavlenko's microphone on Wednesday.

"It is unfortunate to have hate speech because the baker who is crowned in Paris goes up and is going to be known and he takes the whole profession with him", regretted Dominique Anract.

"It has to be convincing, but we must not mix everything up: politics, religion and this profession. The bakery is sharing. Buddy, it comes from the word

sharing bread.

The representative of the profession also called on young people to become a baker.

A profession wrongly devalued and which offers interesting careers, according to him.
