The ball bearing manufacturer SKF has promised to radically reduce its carbon dioxide emissions until 2025. Part of this test is about autonomous electric vehicles that transport goods between factory and warehouse within the factory area in Gothenburg.
- The great effect is not obtained by just having the truck separately, but when we put the autonomous transports in a system together with our automatic production, says Måns Isacsson.
Jobs are changing
The test with these self-driving electric transports is still in its infancy.
There are already self-driving electric trucks in factories and warehouses.
Next in line is autonomous loading and unloading of truck transports.
Will jobs disappear because of this?
