The boss of LR deputies Damien Abad deplored Wednesday the "incessant changes of foot" of Emmanuel Macron on the diplomatic ground, in particular vis-à-vis Algeria.

"I share a number of his comments, he is right when he puts the visa issue on the table with the Maghreb countries," Abad said on Radio J about the drastic reduction in the granting of visas. by France with regard to Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, which according to Paris do not do enough to accommodate their nationals expelled from France.

"But what bothers me are the permanent and incessant changes of foot", added the deputy, taking the example of Algeria: Mr. Macron "sometimes praised the FLN, he denounced the crimes against the humanity of colonization, and today he speaks of a memorial rent "which would be fed by the Algerian regime.

Mr. Abad called for "more coherence, stability and respect for each other", because "these" changes (...) are not simply disrupting our relations with others but also French diplomacy as such, our ambassadors ".

Emmanuel Macron sparked the wrath of Algiers after remarks reported by the newspaper Le Monde accusing the Algerian "politico-military" system of maintaining a "memorial rent" on the conflict by serving his people an "official history" which " does not rely on truths ".

On Tuesday, he said he wanted to find a way of "appeasement" in this diplomatic crisis, praising his good relations with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
