Ukrainian police said on Monday they had arrested a 25-year-old man who hacked into more than 100 foreign companies and caused more than $150 million in damages, according to Reuters.

A police statement said the hacker - whose identity was not revealed - used phishing attacks and software that allow remote access to computers, adding that among the victims were "world-famous energy and tourism companies."

The intruder was arrested with the help of law enforcement officials from the United States, France, Europol and Interpol, and the police searched the homes of the accused and his relative.

"As a result, computers, mobile phones, cars and more than $360,000 in cash were seized, as well as $1.3 million in cryptocurrencies for the attacker," the police said.
