Lars Oscarson in Ljungby has been loyal to his bank for many years, for a full 40 years he has rented a bank vault in his bank in Ljungby.

But now that opportunity disappears and Lars has to empty his compartment.

- We have had our bank vault for more than 40 years.

We have had some valuables such as some documents and some short films from when the children were small.

We received a letter from the bank in which they write that there are so few who use it and therefore the bank has decided to discontinue that service to customers.

Lars Oscarson is a little worried now.

The compartment also contained some jewelry and valuable narrow films and now he only has a completely ordinary bag that he has filled with the contents.

Now he does not know where to store things as safely as possible without the union.

Can no longer keep his things safe

- Should something happen in our house, maybe a fire or something else that destroys things that we can no longer have in safety, it would be very sad, says Lars Oscarson.

Closes in a month

Last November, the door to the vault will be closed for good.

At the same time, Lars Oscarson wonders what the next move from the bank is when it comes to reducing service in smaller towns.

- I wonder every time a service is withdrawn what will be the next step, he says.

SEB has also chosen to get rid of its bank compartments in Kronoberg.

But neither Swedbank's nor SEB's local managers in Kronoberg have wanted to meet SVT in an interview.

According to Frank Hojem, Head of Communications at SEB, few of the bank's bank safes were used.

- One of five of our available bank compartments was used, says Frank Hojem to SVT Nyheter.
