“According to reports posted in the media, several men, acting by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy, using violence, committed sexual acts against a convict in a correctional institution,” the ministry said in a statement.
Control over the investigation of the criminal case is carried out by the acting head of the investigation department Oleg Mezrin.
Earlier it became known that the Federal Penitentiary Service began checking information about torture against a man in one of the institutions of the penitentiary system of the Saratov region.
Also, the Prosecutor General's Office began checking.
