Through the “Expo 2020” characters, Rashid and Latifa, and in an interactive way that touches the minds of young people, the “Expo 2020 Dubai” activity book, produced by Austin McCauley Publishers, tells the story of the exhibition for children, in a way that simplifies the themes it carries, such as sustainability. and progress towards a better future and a better environment.

The book provides children with a journey between the various pavilions of the Expo, and the countries participating in it, to be their guide to the exhibition that mixes education with entertainment, and affects their minds and thinking patterns.

The book is intended for children from six to nine years old. It is an interactive book that integrates the main themes of "Expo" with the concept of teaching, including "Connecting Minds and Innovation", which helps students excel academically.

It encourages them to open up to the cultures of the world.

The activity book, presented in both English and Arabic, enhances the critical thinking of the child, develops his reading and writing skills, as well as broadening his horizons of thinking, by motivating him to think about major issues in the world, such as sustainability.

According to what the global director of the publishing house, Jade Robinson, said about the book to "Emirates Today", it "focuses on the theme of (Expo), which is (communicating minds, creating the future), and children travel between its pages with Rashid and Latifah characters, and then they move on. To learn about the main wings in it, which are sustainability, opportunity and mobility.”

Robinson pointed out that the book is a story that offers children their own journey around the exhibition, teaches them how they can protect the earth, advance through technology, and how they can develop in the future, as well as teach them how to deliver peace in multiple languages.

And about adapting the themes that the exhibition carries to be suitable for young minds, Robinson confirmed that she worked to simplify these ideas, to present them in a way that allows children to communicate with them, and capture them well, in order to understand the message behind each activity contained in the book.

And she added that she was very scrutinizing the information presented by the book, in cooperation with the "Expo" administration, in addition to cooperating with a group of professors who worked to make the content intersect with the educational materials received by children at school, to provide the maximum benefit to students.

The book is available in stores located in the "Expo" exhibition, as well as in a number of bookstores in the country.

Robinson confirmed the work on placing the book in state schools, to reach the largest possible number of youngsters, explaining that it carries an importance beyond its association with the exhibition, as it carries with it a special section about the Emirates, through which students are introduced to the country's pavilion, and to the Emirates' heritage, values ​​and customs.

She pointed out that the UAE section deals with the country's culture, and its riches and features, providing young people with information related to the history of the founding of the Emirates, as well as shedding light on the falcons and animals that live in the Emirates.

On the interaction of young people with the book, Robinson said that they can answer the questions posed by the book on the one hand, and that it promotes and develops habits that mimic sustainability and development, indicating that changing the children's thinking pattern leads to positive change in society.
