This small green paste served with sushi is originally from Japan.

Wasabi, a cousin of horseradish or mustard, has the same ability to come to our noses.

It contains sinigrin.

It is originally a root that only grows in certain specific mountainous regions of Japan because it gives it very specific conditions: it is a semi-aquatic plant that requires between 18 months and 3 years of cultivation. .

Wasabi has been known in Japan for more than 1000. It was then consumed for its antiseptic properties (it was necessary to guard against the dangers of consuming raw fish).

Wasabi comes in the form of a root, when fresh, it is finely grated on a shark skin with circular gestures.

It is a very rare and expensive product.

But beware, wasabi is often presented in small sachets in Japanese restaurants.

It only has wasabi in name, it is a nice scam because these sachets do not generally contain a gram of… wasabi but horseradish, mustard, and coloring!

You can use it in mayonnaise, make wasabi butter or even ice cream

Ingredients :
