(Fighting new crown pneumonia) Thailand's confirmed cases fell below 10,000 in a single day, the prime minister thanks the people

China News Agency, Bangkok, September 28 (Reporter Wang Guoan) Thailand officially announced on the 28th that there were 9,489 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia and 129 deaths.

This is the first time that Thailand has less than 10,000 confirmed cases in a single day in more than two months.

Since the third wave of the epidemic broke out in Thailand in early April this year, the number of confirmed cases has continued to rise. On July 17, the number of new cases exceeded 10,000 for the first time, and on August 13, the number of new cases reached the highest point of 23,418.

Since then, although the number of newly confirmed cases in Thailand has been repeated every day, the overall trend has remained declining.

As of the 28th, Thailand had a total of 15,81415 confirmed cases, 1,448,206 cured, and 16,498 deaths. Among them, the confirmed cases since April this year accounted for more than 98% of the total, and the deaths exceeded 99% of the total.

Regarding the number of confirmed cases dropped to less than 10,000 in a single day, Thai Prime Minister’s Office spokesman Thanakorn said that Prime Minister Prayuth thanked all the people for their joint cooperation to achieve today’s concrete anti-epidemic results.

Tanakorn said that the authorities have continuously adjusted response measures in accordance with the changes in the epidemic, and the results have gradually emerged. He believes that the number of confirmed cases will continue to decline in the future.

Due to the recent improvement in the domestic epidemic situation, Thailand's New Crown Pneumonia Epidemic Management Center adopted a number of loosening measures on the 27th, including reducing the isolation time of inbound passengers, opening more tourist demonstration areas, lifting the ban on some commercial establishments, and shortening the curfew.
