The plans to build 57 wind turbines on Röknölen in northern Värmland have encountered massive opposition and now the Social Democrats in Torsby have also decided to say no.

This means that a majority in the municipality is against and that the municipality's veto would put a stop to a future application that was planned to be submitted in December.

Joe Bengtsson is one of those who got involved in the protests against the wind farm and he is pleased with the news, but also aware that the issue is far from settled.

- In the short term, there will be nothing, but there may be a new application in a few years.

The company does not give up

Gustav Nordström, CEO of Fred Olsen Renewables AB, the company that wants to build the wind farm, tells P4 Värmland that they still see good conditions for a wind farm in the area.

- We must make a comeback and look more closely at what adaptations are required and how these are communicated so we get acceptance.
